On the afternoon of December 16, a delegation led by the counsellor of the Canadian Embassy in China Mr. Robert Emond visited Dalian Maritime University. The delegation includes the representatives from the Canada Trade Representative’s office in Northeast China region and Foreign Affairs Office of Dalian Municipal People’s Government. Vice-President Zhao Youtao met the guests.

Prof. Zhao firstly expressed warm welcome to the delegation led by Mr. Roberb Emond and briefly introduced DMU from the aspects of international cooperation, personnel training and teaching and scientific research. He hoped that DMU could take this opportunity to promote the cooperation with Canadian universities in the exchanges between faculty and students, teaching and scientific research and other related fields and further to boost the China-Canada cooperation in education, science and technology.

Mr. Robert thanked DMU for its warm welcome and briefly introduced the delegation and expressed that Canada attaches importance to the development of education and scientific research. He hoped that Canadian universities could have more cooperation opportunities with DMU in the aspects of student exchange and scientific research.

The two sides discussed the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and the subjects on which cooperation on science and technology could be carried out.
